    I have been a Church of England Minister for 26 years and am a member of General Synod. I understand completely why survivors need an independent enquiry into historic abuse as well as current practices and will therefore be contacting my MP. I am so sorry that wrong has been done in the Church of which I am part and so sad that survivors have not felt listened to…. I hope we can face up to mistakes of the past and can then apologise wholeheartedly and try and make sure things are better in the future.
